Notes: April 17, 2006 -- The Scudder New Asia Fund, Inc. announced today that it had successfully merged into DWS Emerging Market Equity Fund, an open-end investment company. The merger became effective after the close of business on April 13, 2006. On the closing of the merger, the assets of Scudder New Asia were transferred to DWS Emerging Market Equity Fund and, in exchange, the DWS Emerging Market Equity Fund assumed the liabilities of Scudder New Asia Fund and delivered to Scudder New Asia, for distribution to the Scudder New Asia shareholders, Class S shares of DWS Emerging Markets Equity Fund having a net asset value equal to the value of the assets transferred less the liabilities assumed, as described more fully in the prospectus/proxy statement for the merger. The new ticker symbol is SEMGX and its cusip is 23337R502. All shareholders of Scudder New Asia received class S shares of DWS Emerging Markets Equity Fund at a conversion ratio of 0.637085020 class S shares of the DWS Emerging Markets Equity Fund per 1 share of Scudder New Asia Fund.
