3/5/2013-- Called for Redemption per the Other OTC at $110 per share plus accrued dividend of $0.917) ____________From the DUK News Release dated Feb. 6, 2013 -- Duke Energy (DUK) today announced that on March 8, the company will redeem all shares of three series of preferred stock issued by its subsidiary Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc. and all shares of five series of preferred stock issued by its subsidiary Progress Energy Florida, Inc., for a total of approximately $96 million. ____________ On July 2, 2012, pursuant to the previously announced Agreement and Plan of Merger, dated as of January 8, 2011, by and among Duke Energy Corporation, Diamond Acquisition Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Duke Energy, and Progress Energy, Inc., Duke Energy completed its acquisition of Progress Energy. As a result of the Merger, Progress Energy will no longer remain a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
