FUND DESCRIPTION: iShares North American Tech-Software ETF formerly iShares North American Tech-Software ETF, formerly iShares S&P North American Technology-Software Index Fund, formerly iShares S&P GSTI Software Index Fund, is an exchange-traded index fund or Index ETF which is a separate investment portfolio of the iShares Trust, an open-end investment management company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: Thei Shares North American Tech-Software ETF seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the S&P North American Expanded Technology Software Index
INDEX DESCRIPTION: The S&P North American Expanded Technology Software Index is designed to measure U.S. traded securities in the GICS® application software, systems software, and home entertainment software sub-industries as well as applicable supplementary stocks.
FUND STRATEGY: The Fund uses a Representative Sampling strategy to try to track the Index. The Fund will concentrate its investments in a particular industry or group of industries to approximately the same extent the Index is so concentrated. Because the Index will always be concentrated in the software industry, which comprises 100% of its market capitalization, the Fund will always be concentrated in the software industry. The Fund pays out dividends to investors at least annually and may pay them on a more frequent basis. The Fund distributes its net capital gains, if any, to investors annually.
